Coral were a big presence amongst the bookies on the street, and have in recent years really tried to make themselves a decent presence in the online market too. There’s strong talk that the company is to end up merging with the bigger – yet worse off – Ladbrokes, in order to cut costs. As it stands though, we’re not sure what’s going to come of the reports.
The Coral sign up deal is appealing, though, as it stands. Once upon a time they’d offer a matched bet of up to the value of £50 when you opened your account, but nowadays their hook is to give you a £20 free bet from an initial stake of £5. To qualify, place a £5 bet on any sports selection with odds of 1/2 or more.
Promotions
The Twittersphere blew up in 2013 with one punter who took complete advantage of Coral’s ‘Football Jackpot’ game. The Coral customer scooped a £100k prize at the back end of the year after correctly predicting the outcomes of 15 football matches on one weekend.
The winner even made national news as his stake was a measly £1. There is a jackpot waiting to be won every week for anyone who can follow suit and it’s always guaranteed to be at least £100,000. It does however involve a multiple line stake, so bear that in mind. Staking from £1 to £20 per line multiplied by the amount of lines is something Coral likes to run with, and does offer a pretty lucrative reward should your luck be in.
‘Super Acca Insurance’ is on offer from Coral for footballing bettors, though. Placing a 6 Fold + ‘Match Result’ football accumulator across any competition qualifies you, and you’ll see your stake refunded as a free bet of up to if up to £/€25 if 3 teams let you down. That’s a sweet deal.
Coral are also another bookie that guarantees you the best price on horse racing meets, though they’re one of about three or four who claim to have the advantage. So take that for what you will. There’s also a host of other offers on other sports too, with golf and tennis particuarly popular on their sports offers page.
Coral Radio
Quite unique to Coral is Coral Radio, a service that offers you live commentary from all the day’s football matches, horse races and greyhound meets. You don’t even need to be a customer to take advantage though, but it might be a useful tool to help you along.
Appearance
Both the website and mobile phone application are made to a good standard. Offering you an iPhone, iPad and Android app Coral cover most bases for the mobile customer.
The website is very neat and easy, with great organisation. It’s a big winner in comparison to Paddy Power and William Hill especially. The colour scheme works and makes everything that needs to pop stand out like a sore thumb (in a good way).
There’s no difficulty in finding anything, and the spread of casino, poker and games options are displayed right in the centre if that’s what you fancy.
Support
Customer service hours that run from 7am to 11pm via the telephone are the main option, but their lack of a live chat option is a bit of a let down. Email is another option but you always run the risk of waiting a while if it’s something urgent.
Overall
You should have no qualms at all about joining up with Coral. A decent start up offer, complimented by some attractive little gimmicks to keep you entertained make them one of the better bookies out there – especially online.
Their prices are decent – though not the best out there – but you can make do with that for all of the added extras thrown in too.
